Position Overview: As a Shipping Litigation Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in our clients maritime and shipping practice group. You will be responsible for handling a wide range of shipping-related disputes and providing expert legal advice to our clients in the maritime industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented solicitor to further their career in shipping law.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Represent clients in shipping litigation matters, including disputes related to cargo claims, charter party disputes, salvage claims, collision cases, and marine insurance disputes.
2. Conduct legal research, analysis, and case preparation to develop effective litigation strategies.
3. Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents.
4. Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations on behalf of clients.
5. Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
6. Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on shipping-related issues.
7. Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to manage complex shipping cases.
8. Keep abreast of changes in shipping laws and regulations.
9. Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional legal services.

Qualifications:

1. Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 3 years PQE in shipping litigation.
2. Strong understanding of English maritime and shipping laws.
3. Proven experience in handling a variety of shipping litigation matters.
4. Excellent research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
5. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
9. Membership in relevant professional organisations (e.g., the Law Society).
