Our client, a specialist law firm renowned for their expertise in both Catastrophic Injury and Clinical Negligence, are seeking a Grade A fee earner to join their busy and expanding Serious Injury Team. The successful candidate will be working within an expanding Multi-Track department and dealing with complex serious injury claims from initial stages through to settlement. The cases will include brain injury and spinal injury cases with some of the higher value claims reaching in excess of £1m.
  • Manage a caseload of catastrophic injury cases, ensuring high-quality legal advice and representation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, assess liability, and provide sound legal opinions to clients.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, barristers, and other relevant parties to build strong cases.
  • Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations, and represent clients in court when necessary.
  • Keep up-to-date with legal developments, case law, and legislation relating to catastrophic injury claims.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case files, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional client service, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and effective communication throughout the process.
  • Contribute to business development activities, networking, and raising the firm’s profile within the field.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with minimum 5 years PQE  and experience handling a caseload of complex Fast-track Catastrophic Injury files.
  • Demonstrable expertise in handling complex catastrophic injury cases from inception to settlement or trial.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and legal procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess liability, damages, and quantum accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience in achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a demanding caseload, and meet deadlines.
  • Empathy, sensitivity, and the ability to build rapport with clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies and accreditations is desirable.
