About the Role
Themis Recruit are seeking a dedicated Serious Injury Solicitor to join our clients Legal Services team in Wakefield. You’ll play a key role in managing and supporting a portfolio of complex claimant serious injury cases, helping our clients secure the justice and compensation they deserve.
Working alongside a Lead Fee Earner, you will assist with high-value and technically challenging RTA-based serious injury claims, often exceeding £250,000 in value, while managing a small caseload of your own. Your work will make a tangible difference to clients recovering from life-changing injuries.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain a full working knowledge of each case, including key issues and the agreed strategy for resolution.

Support the Lead Fee Earner in progressing claims efficiently, handling delegated elements of each case.

Undertake chargeable work under supervision, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and reassurance throughout their case.

Liaise with a wide range of experts — including medical specialists, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.

Analyse evidence and research legal issues relating to liability, causation, and quantum.

Draft legal documents such as statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.

Secure interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation support for clients.

Maintain accurate and timely records within the case management system.

Support client meetings, conferences, and settlement discussions with well-prepared documentation.

Liaise with finance teams regarding disbursements and expert payments.

Contribute to business development through networking with key organisations such as APIL, Headway, and the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).

Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate.
About You
Essential Requirements

Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX (applications from experienced non-qualified candidates will also be considered).

Proven experience assisting with or managing serious injury claims.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive conversations.

Excellent client care and relationship management skills.

Confident using case management systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Strong attention to detail and organisational ability in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements
Our clients are based across England and Wales, so travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, and expert consultations.
