We are seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor (4+ PQE) to join our growing Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, commercially minded lawyer to handle a diverse and challenging caseload while playing a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting the wider strategic development of the firm.


The Role

As a Litigation Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload spanning property, commercial, and professional negligence disputes. You will advise on landlord and tenant matters, land and boundary disputes (including easements and adverse possession), breach of contract, debt recovery, insolvency issues, and professional negligence claims.

You will deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice and represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court hearings. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to business development activities, foster strong cross-departmental collaboration, and support the development of junior colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

Core Legal Work

  • Handle a broad range of property disputes including possession claims, rent arrears, lease covenant breaches, dilapidations, easements, boundaries, and adverse possession.

  • Manage litigation matters involving breach of contract, debt recovery, insolvency, and professional negligence.

  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements in line with the Civil Procedure Rules.

  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court hearings; instruct Counsel where required.

  • Conduct legal research and keep up to date with relevant legislative and procedural developments.

Client Relationships & Business Development

  • Act as a primary contact for key clients, providing strategic, commercially aware legal advice.

  • Engage in networking, sector events, and business development initiatives.

  • Work closely with marketing and BD teams on campaigns, thought leadership, and profile-raising activities.

  • Anticipate client needs and market trends to support service development and long-term growth.

Collaboration, Leadership & Mentoring

  • Work alongside colleagues across property, corporate, and other legal teams on multifaceted matters.

  • Support, guide, and mentor trainees and junior staff.

  • Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and best practice development.

  • Promote a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with firm values.

Regulatory Compliance & Development

  • Ensure all work complies with SRA standards, AML requirements, data protection legislation, and internal policies.

  • Maintain and enhance professional expertise through CPD and active engagement with sector developments.

  • Uphold ethical legal practice and contribute to a culture of integrity and accountability.


About You

We are looking for a solicitor who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE.

  • Strong experience in property and commercial disputes, with a track record of handling complex matters.

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with an ability to shape strategic legal documentation.

  • Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including SRA requirements.

  • Confidence and gravitas in client-facing situations, with the ability to act as a trusted adviser.

  • Strong leadership qualities and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Commercial acumen, strong communication skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
