Due to continued success, we are now seeking an experienced Senior Children Panel Solicitor to join their highly regarded Family Department in London.
The Role
You will join a well-established Child Care team, working alongside accredited specialists and members of the Law Society Children Panel and Family Panel. The department represents parents, children (including through Guardian instructions), adopters, foster carers and kinship carers across the full spectrum of child care law. The team also undertakes complex child abduction matters, supported by in-house expertise.
This is a senior appointment suited to a Children Panel member with an established Guardian following who can bring both technical expertise and leadership to the team.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct a full caseload of complex public law children matters

Represent Guardians and children directly

Undertake advocacy where appropriate to ensure continuity of representation

Advise on child protection, care proceedings, Special Guardianship Orders and adoption matters

Provide supervision, mentoring and technical support to junior colleagues

Contribute to business development initiatives and cross-referral opportunities

Maintain high standards of client care and compliance within publicly funded work
Candidate Profile

Accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel (essential)

Minimum 3 years’ PQE with significant experience in public law children work

Established Guardian following highly desirable

Strong advocacy skills with confidence conducting hearings

Demonstrable commitment to publicly funded and access to justice work

Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and meet demanding deadlines

Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to departmental growth

Collaborative team player with leadership qualities

Strong IT proficiency and experience in paperless case management systems
