The Opportunity
Due to continued success, Themis Recruit are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Associate to join our clients growing Real Estate Dispute Resolution team. This is a chance to work in a highly regarded, supportive, and collaborative environment, advising a diverse client base including developers, landlords, tenants, funders, investors, high net worth individuals, retailers, and hoteliers on a wide range of complex property matters—both commercial and residential.
What We Do
Our work spans four key areas:

Development & Neighbourly Matters – Advising on Building Safety, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, Rights of Light, boundary issues, easements, nuisance, and related claims.

Residential Property Disputes – Covering leasehold enfranchisement, possession proceedings, service charge disputes, co-ownership issues, and tenancy enforcement.

Commercial Asset Management – Managing matters such as lease renewals, dilapidations, forfeiture, break rights, rent reviews, and insolvency disputes.

Property Contract Disputes – Dealing with claims for specific performance, injunctions, building defects, misrepresentation, and professional negligence.
As a Senior Associate, you’ll lead on high-value and complex matters, manage client relationships, support team growth, and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the practice.
Your Key Responsibilities
You’ll be expected to:

Independently manage a diverse and often complex caseload across all four workstreams.

Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering strategic and commercially driven solutions.

Supervise and mentor junior team members, offering hands-on guidance and feedback.

Take a lead role in litigation and ADR processes, from early-stage advice through to resolution.

Contribute to the development of the team’s knowledge, efficiency, and best practices.

Support business development through networking, thought leadership, and client engagement.

Manage financial aspects of cases, including budgeting, costs recovery, and liaison with insurers and costs draftsmen.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally bring:

Significant experience in real estate disputes, with a strong track record of managing complex matters.

Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and colleagues.

Leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior lawyers or trainees.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
