The Opportunity
As a Senior Associate in our clients Tier 1 Employment team, you will manage a diverse range of contentious, advisory, and transactional employment matters, including industrial relations work. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services and building strong client relationships. In this position, you’ll handle significant client contact and oversee junior colleagues, contributing to the overall success of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Work: Deliver excellent client service across a variety of employment law matters, including disputes, advisory work, and transactions.
- Team Leadership: Support and mentor junior team members, delegating tasks and providing feedback as needed. Act as lead lawyer where appropriate.
- Client Relationships: Strengthen client relationships by anticipating their needs and providing timely, solution-driven advice.
- Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships within the global firm and contribute to firm-wide initiatives, such as corporate social responsibility, diversity, and inclusion.
- Compliance: Adhere to firm policies and risk requirements while ensuring professional responsibilities and legal obligations are met.

- Defending Tesco in a significant equal pay claim involving thousands of store employees.

Requirements
- Qualification: Qualified solicitor or barrister with a solid background in employment law.
- Experience: Ideally 6+ years PQE, although candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered.
- Skills: Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and project management skills, along with basic people management and business development abilities.
- Commercial Awareness: A good understanding of law firm profitability and the ability to manage costs and budgets effectively.
