Department Overview

Our clients Property Disputes Team forms a key part of their broader Real Estate practice. The team includes a Head of department, four senior partners and also includes a senior counsel, knowledge counsel, 12 associates, 4 trainees, and a paralegal.

Redacted are known for their expertise across the full spectrum of real estate matters, including development, investment, landlord and tenant issues, and property financing. Their diverse clients, from high-calibre corporate entities to investment funds, rely on them for advice across various asset classes such as operational real estate (including senior living, healthcare), retail, offices, build-to-rent, student accommodation, logistics, infrastructure, and hotels.

For international projects, they leverage their strong relationships with leading independent law firms worldwide to ensure seamless service for their clients. Collaboration across their Real Estate, Finance, Corporate M&A, Funds, Pensions, Tax, and Operational Risk teams ensures that they can provide integrated and comprehensive advice on all aspects of real estate.


The Role

Due to continued success, Themis Recruit are seeking a Junior Associate (1-3 PQE) to join our clients dynamic Property Disputes Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to gain experience in a wide range of property disputes while working closely with leading experts in the field.

The Property Disputes team sits within their broader Real Estate practice, which also includes Planning and Construction teams. You’ll have access to the full range of resources and support from our core Disputes Practice, ensuring you receive comprehensive training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

You will gain exposure to a diverse array of property disputes, including:

  • Landlord and tenant disputes, including lease renewals

  • Development-related disputes

  • Dilapidations claims

  • Sales and purchases of land

  • Breach of contract matters

  • Insolvency-related disputes

We’re looking for a candidate with experience in these areas, but most importantly, we seek someone who is eager to learn and build on their existing legal knowledge. You’ll work closely with the Head of Property Disputes, and play a role in the ongoing growth and evolution of the department. While there is no expectation for you to personally drive the department’s expansion, we value individuals who are proactive, collaborative, and committed to the team’s development.

Personal Specification – Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • A strong academic background

  • Qualified England & Wales Solicitor (1-3 PQE)

  • Experience in a property disputes role within a real estate team, preferably in a comparable firm

  • A clear interest in the evolving field of Property Disputes and the wider Real Estate market

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents with commercial awareness

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and a keen, inquisitive mindset

  • Ability to work independently, while also contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • A commitment to contributing to the firm’s culture and values
