Our client, a boutique and family-ran law firm, are seeking a Private Client Solicitor (Or suitably experienced fee earner) to join their growing law firm.
As a Private Client Solicitor, you will provide comprehensive legal advice and support to high-net-worth individuals and families, ensuring their personal affairs are properly managed and their interests are protected. Your expertise in areas such as wills, trusts, estate planning, tax, and probate will be crucial in delivering exceptional service to our discerning clientele.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on and preparing wills, powers of attorney, and trusts as well as providing non-regulated tax planning advice and handling probate matters.
- Draft and review wills, trusts, and other legal documents to accurately reflect clients’ intentions and ensure their assets are protected.
- Assist clients in estate planning, identifying tax-efficient strategies, and minimizing inheritance tax liabilities.
- Administer and manage trusts and estates, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, resolving any disputes or complications, and distributing assets as per clients’ wishes.
- Handle probate matters, including applying for grants of representation, valuing assets, settling debts, and finalizing the distribution of estates.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals, such as tax advisors and financial planners, to provide holistic solutions for clients’ wealth management needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering a personalized and responsive service, and proactively identify opportunities to further assist them.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends, and share knowledge with colleagues to enhance the firm’s expertise.
- Actively contribute to business development initiatives, including networking, attending conferences, and participating in marketing activities to attract new clients and expand the firm’s private client practice.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, case progress, and billing information using the firm’s practice management systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Private Client Solicitor, with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or private practice. Alternatively, suitably experienced fee earners will also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of private client law, including wills, trusts, estate planning, tax, and probate legislation and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide creative and pragmatic legal solutions.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding client management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust, empathise, and communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential client matters.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing a diverse caseload and meeting deadlines.
- A proactive and commercial mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
