About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Negligence Solicitor to join our highly respected team in Chelmsford.

As a core member of our specialist practice, you will manage your own caseload of complex and rewarding medical negligence claims, working collaboratively with some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the field. You’ll play a vital role in helping clients achieve the compensation and closure they deserve following life-changing medical errors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a diverse and stimulating caseload of medical negligence matters, including surgical errors, misdiagnosis, birth injury, and delayed treatment claims.

  • Review and analyse medical records, expert reports, and witness statements to build robust cases.

  • Advise clients with empathy, clarity, and professionalism throughout every stage of the claims process.

  • Draft key legal documents including Letters of Claim, witness statements, and court pleadings.

  • Liaise effectively with clients, medical experts, counsel, and other parties to progress cases efficiently.

  • Attend conferences, settlement meetings, and case management hearings as required.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of best practice and knowledge sharing within the team.


About You

We are looking for someone who demonstrates technical expertise, strong client care skills, and a genuine interest in medical negligence law.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive

  • Proven experience in managing clinical or medical negligence cases

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation ability

  • Compassionate, client-focused approach

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Desirable:

  • APIL accreditation or a desire to achieve it (we will support your accreditation journey)
