Our client are seeking a skilled Legal Secretary/Typist to assist their managing partner in all aspects related to document preparation, transcription, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent language skills, strong typing abilities, and a keen attention to detail. The role will also involve transcribing from dictated letters using Olympus dictation. While previous experience with Olympus is a significant advantage, it is not a strict requirement. The primary focus of this role is to accurately transcribe dictated letters and create well-formatted documents related to housing disrepair cases.

Requirements:

  • Efficiently transcribe dictated letters, legal documents, and correspondence using both traditional typing methods and Olympus dictation (experience with Olympus is desirable).
  • Produce well-structured and accurately formatted legal documents, including court forms, affidavits, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
  • Collaborate with the managing partner to ensure timely completion and submission of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all typed materials, ensuring proper grammar, spelling, and formatting.
  • Liaise with clients and defendant solicitors as required, demonstrating professionalism and excellent communication skills.
  • Handle limited diary management tasks, scheduling appointments, meetings, and managing the managing partner’s calendar.
  • Assist in file management and organization, ensuring documents are appropriately stored and easily accessible.
  • Undertake various administrative tasks to support the smooth functioning of the office.
