Our client is an award-winning, Kensington-based law firm established in 1958. They are nationally recognised for their expertise in Housing Law and for their role in shaping the legal landscape through a number of landmark House of Lords, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal decisions.

Our clients Housing Legal Aid team provides specialist advice and representation across a wide range of housing matters, including homelessness, disrepair, possession and injunction proceedings, and unlawful eviction. We also have extensive experience in housing-related judicial reviews before the High Court, as well as leasehold and rent repayment disputes.


The Role

Due to continued success, Themis Recruit are seeking an experienced Housing Solicitor or Caseworker to join our clients highly regarded Housing Legal Aid team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful legal work that upholds access to justice for vulnerable clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling casework across all areas of housing law, including:

    • Homelessness

    • Possession and injunction proceedings

    • Committal proceedings

    • Disrepair and unlawful eviction

    • Leaseholder disputes

  • Maintaining accurate time recording and file management in line with SQM (Specialist Quality Mark) requirements

  • Providing compassionate and effective representation to vulnerable clients


About You

We are looking for someone who demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to access to justice.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in housing law casework

  • Strong knowledge of the legal aid system and its principles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal case management systems
