Head of Housing Disrepair

Our client, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as the Head of Department for Housing Disrepair. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of professionals and overseeing all aspects of their housing disrepair division.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the housing disrepair department, ensuring the effective management and resolution of housing disrepair cases.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including tenants, landlords, and legal representatives, to facilitate the efficient resolution of housing disrepair cases.
• Manage a team of professionals, including solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, and provide guidance, mentorship, and training as required.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to streamline processes and ensure efficient service delivery to clients.
• Stay updated with changes in housing laws and regulations, and proactively adapt department strategies to reflect these changes.
• Monitor department performance, analyse key metrics, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

• Ideally you will be a qualified Solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. However, candidates that are experienced running a caseload post-litigation will also be considered.
• Civil litigation experience and good working knowledge of the civil procedure rules and fast track
• Experience of advising on legal issues within an in-house legal environment or similar
• Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
