Our clients Family Department is one of the firm’s most established and highly regarded teams. They advise across the full spectrum of family law, with particular expertise in public and private children law, adoption, abduction, family finance, and international family matters.
The Role
Themis Recruit are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Children Law Solicitor to join our clients Central London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is passionate about family and children law, with a particular focus on public law matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of the Family Department and play a key role in handling complex, sensitive, and high-profile cases.
Key Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ PQE in childcare and public law children matters (highly desirable).

Law Society Children Panel accreditation (or currently working towards accreditation) strongly preferred.

Strong advocacy and case management skills, with experience managing complex and sensitive cases.

Proven experience representing parents, carers, and children (where applicable) in care proceedings.

Ability to manage a varied caseload of public and private children law matters independently.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client care skills.

A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to casework and practice development.

Knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and procedures (essential).

Interest or experience in child abduction, international family law, and modern family law issues (desirable).

Experience in cross-border child abduction matters and/or membership of the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit (ICACU) is an advantage.

A proactive approach to business development, ideally with existing connections and referral sources.
