Our client, one of the countries leading law firms, are seeking an experienced Corporate M&A Associate looking work on high quality files alongside industry experts on a daily basis.

About the Role:

  • Engage in high-quality corporate M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Achieve personal goals aligned with firm objectives and contribute to junior colleagues’ development.
  • Understand client needs, lead CRM efforts, and actively network for business growth.

  • One of the largest Corporate M&A teams outside London.
  • Involved in complex public/private mergers, acquisitions, private equity, and equity capital markets transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in corporate M&A and PE transactions.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective management of a complex workload.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn.
  • Experience leading others to develop their skills.
  • SRA or Law Society of Scotland registered lawyer.

Requirements:

Financial Delivery:

    • 1. Achieve or exceed personal benchmarks for Chargeable Hours and Investment Time.
    • 2. Contribute to departmental budgets, deliver objectives, and manage personal billing.
    • 3. Implement best practices in matter management to optimize revenue and profit.
  1. Effective Matter Management:
    • 1. Optimise revenue through best practice matter management from inception to closure.
    • 2. Manage work of others with matter executive responsibility, ensuring adherence to standards.
    • 3. Plan, price, and deliver work within agreed deadlines, complying with risk procedures.
  2. Business Development:
    • 1. Contribute to developing new client relationships and achieving profitable revenue growth.
    • 2. Understand departmental BD strategy, participate in events, and build a personal business plan.
    • 3. Network with clients, professionals, and contribute to the firm’s brand through social media.
  3. Client Relationships:
    • 1. Protect and enhance existing client relationships, understand client businesses, and deliver high-quality services.
    • 2. Actively participate in department initiatives, address client queries, and cross-refer work.
  4. Developing Others:
    • 1. Improve technical and commercial skills of junior lawyers, provide constructive feedback.
    • 2. Contribute to team development, share knowledge, and actively engage in training activities.
  5. Personal Development:
    • 1. Manage personal and career development, deepen technical skills, and stay updated with legal developments.
    • 2. Build a professional profile, participate in relevant professional bodies, and attain necessary qualifications.
