Mckie Recruit is seeking a Complex Injury Solicitor based in London for a leading international law firm. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and grow the role.
The firm is currently working in a flexible manner, with the requirement to be in the London office at least 1 day per week.
  • Managing complex claims
  • Participating in conferences, trials, and witness preparation, among other responsibilities
  • Assisting in the disclosure of sensitive documents
  • Crafting legal documents for court proceedings
  • Attending trials and hearings with legal counsel
  • Organizing files for complex and confidential cases
  • Efficiently overseeing cases to meet deadlines and proactively manage them to resolution
  • Collaborating with senior fee earners on more intricate, high-value cases and partners on multi-million-pound claims
  • Ensuring effective work execution to meet client needs, the firm’s commercial requirements, and quality standards, including:
  • Complying with internal and client service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and protocols
  • Achieving agreed-upon financial targets
  • Timely billing and collection of work in progress (WIP) and expenses (disbursements)
  • Providing prompt and accurate management information (MI)
  • Developing a clear case strategy and ensuring its adherence for smooth case management while considering both the firm’s and the client’s commercial interests
  • Applying appropriate and up-to-date legal expertise and case law
  • Effectively managing risk and compliance issues in each case, escalating emerging problems to the supervisor as needed
  • Engaging with clients as appropriate to maximize opportunities to connect and build relationships while representing the firm
  • Contributing to business development and fostering client relationships as needed to support the Client Relationship Partner
  • Expanding technical knowledge through training sessions and staying informed by reading relevant publications

 

Requirements

  • Prior experience as the lead solicitor on complex Large Loss & Catastrophic Personal Injury claims, including cases involving traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal injuries, amputations, chronic pain, and complex orthopedic injuries.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of personal adherence to firm protocols and procedures.
  • Possesses a sound legal knowledge base relevant to their specialized area of expertise.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills, capable of meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively, and managing conflicting demands.
  • Approaches legal issues with a commercial perspective.
  • Proficient in both written and oral communication, with a high standard of articulation.
  • Confident in negotiations.
  • Capable of producing high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-notch service.
  • Collaborative team player willing to share knowledge and provide support to colleagues.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and client management skills, able to confidently and professionally handle day-to-day client interactions.
