Themis recruit is seeking a Commercial/Life Sciences Solicitor.  The successful candidate will play a key role in providing legal counsel to clients operating in the dynamic fields of commercial and life sciences. You will be responsible for handling a variety of legal matters, including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both commercial law and life sciences,  will provide business-oriented advice, and will act for SMEs, larger PLCs, multi-national enterprises as well as start-ups, research institutes, charities and spin-outs.  They will draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, and will provide a full range of IP and commercial and regulatory advice to clients based locally, and further afield in the wider UK sector and internationally including in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on commercial and life sciences matters.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance in the life sciences sector.
  • Provide support in intellectual property matters, including patents and licensing.
  • Handle dispute resolution and litigation as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and legal expertise.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial and life sciences law.
  • Solid understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance in the life sciences sector.
  • Proven experience in handling complex legal matters and providing strategic advice.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Client-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
