Clinical Negligence Solicitor – 2+ PQE

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Negligence Solicitor (2–5 years PQE) to join our clients highly ranked and nationally recognised team based in Reading.

In this role, you will:

• Independently manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, typically valued at £50,000 and above.

• Support senior lawyers and partners on complex, high-value claims including birth injuries, cerebral palsy, and cauda equina syndrome.

• Work on a wide range of medical negligence claims involving serious and often life-changing injuries.

You’ll be part of a supportive, experienced team known for its excellence, with all partners recognised as leaders in the field by both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years PQE with a proven background in claimant clinical negligence.

• Trained and/or practiced at a firm known for high-quality clinical negligence work.

• Confidence in handling a caseload independently, particularly lower-to-mid-value claims.

• Interest or experience in cerebral palsy, birth injury, or quantum analysis (desirable).

• Strong technical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Organised, methodical and proactive approach to case management.

• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Run your own caseload of clinical negligence claims (£50k+).

• Assist on complex and high-value claims involving birth and spinal injuries.

• Liaise with medical experts, counsel, and clients to build evidence and develop case strategy.

• Participate in client meetings, settlement negotiations, and court preparations.

• Collaborate closely with a well-resourced team of lawyers, paralegals, and support staff.

• Contribute to the ongoing growth of one of the UK’s leading Clinical Negligence practices.
