Children Law Specialist
Panel accredited. Advocacy-led. Coast-meets-career role.
✓ Outstanding reputation
✓ Flexible & hybrid working
✓ Full relocation support to the East Kent coast
A highly regarded Legal 500–recognised firm is quietly open to conversations with Children Panel–accredited solicitors or chartered legal executives who want stimulating public law work, genuine flexibility, and a better quality of life — without compromising on the calibre of cases or colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity within a busy, well-established Family team that is known for strong advocacy, excellent client feedback, and a supportive, grown-up culture.
The work
You’ll handle a full range of public children law matters, representing clients in:
-
Care proceedings and pre-proceedings
-
Meetings with social services
-
Family courts across Kent
-
Occasional High Court matters in London
You’ll run your own caseload, manage court commitments autonomously, and work flexibly — including remotely where appropriate.
The team & reputation
-
One of East Kent’s largest and longest-established firms
-
The only family law team in Thanet recognised in The Legal 500
-
Department head recognised in Chambers & Partners
-
Exceptionally strong client reviews and repeat work
The culture is collaborative, friendly, and ambitious — lawyers are trusted to get on with their work and encouraged to shape their careers.
What they’re looking for
-
Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
-
Children Panel Accreditation (essential)
-
Strong advocacy skills
-
Confidence running your own caseload
-
Professional, empathetic client manner
Full-time or part-time considered. Salary is negotiable and experience-led.
Why this role?
-
Interesting, meaningful public law work
-
Real flexibility, not lip service
-
A firm that invests in its people and promotes from within
-
Recognition for the quality of your work — publicly and internally
-
A chance to progress without burning out
