The Role

We are looking to expand our Family Law team with a dedicated and passionate Child Panel Solicitor (Children Law Accredited). This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled advocate who wants to work on complex and meaningful care proceedings, with the autonomy and flexibility to shape a work-life balance that suits them.

As a Child Panel Solicitor, you will:

• Represent children, parents, and guardians in public law proceedings.

• Undertake advocacy.

• Manage a caseload of care and child protection matters with the support of experienced legal assistants and a collaborative team.

• Engage with social workers, guardians, and expert witnesses in building strong, outcome-focused cases.

• Contribute to a culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity, aligned with the firm’s long-standing values.

Requirements

• Children Law Accreditation (Law Society Children Panel) – Essential

• 5+ years’ experience in family law with a focus on care proceedings.

• Excellent knowledge of public children law, the Children Act 1989, and associated legislation and guidance.

• Skilled in client care, advocacy, and case management.

• Commitment to access to justice, diversity, and community-based legal service.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible work environment.

Nice to Have (Not Essential)

• Experience working within Legal Aid frameworks.

• Interest or experience in mentoring junior lawyers or trainees.
