Role Overview:

Join our clients esteemed Wealth and Succession team within the Private Client department as an Associate. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to our clients work with High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients, their families, and advisors in tax and estate planning.

Our clients team serves a diverse clientele, including entrepreneurs, artists, authors, foreign royals, charities, and sports professionals, both in the UK and internationally. They leverage the firm’s comprehensive private wealth services, including family law, immigration, reputation management, business crime, residential, and cultural property.

Our client prides themselves on providing clear, actionable advice that facilitates smooth, tax-efficient wealth transitions across generations. We frequently manage estates with business assets and international elements, collaborating with professionals worldwide to ensure seamless estate administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer a diverse range of estates, from straightforward to complex with international components.
  • Collaborate with Personal Representatives to identify estate assets and liabilities.
  • Handle new inquiries, engaging directly with clients to address their questions.
  • Assist the estate accountant in preparing Estate Accounts.
  • Process applications for Grant of Representation and manage post-grant administration.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Manage wills, trusts, and estate planning primarily for UK clients.
  • Oversee trust administration and prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection documents.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in estate administration, particularly with complex estates and international aspects.
  • Strong tax knowledge relevant to estate management and tax-efficient will drafting.
  • Experience advising both UK-domiciled and international clients on estate planning.
  • Ability to supervise junior colleagues effectively.
  • Strong analytical and intellectual skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in drafting and technical research.
  • Ability to work independently while being receptive to guidance from senior team members.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to apply legal principles to client situations effectively.
  • Excellent client management and service skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities, including record keeping and file management.
  • A meticulous and methodical approach to work.
