Role Overview: 

As an Associate in the Clinical Negligence team, you will manage clinical negligence claims for various defendant clients, particularly NHS Resolution. You’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality legal services on complex issues and may engage in healthcare inquest and advisory work.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Client Service: Deliver exceptional client service through proactive, strategic, and commercial management of claims.
  • Caseload Management: Handle your own caseload and support high-value and complex claims in line with client requirements and SLAs.
  • Delegation and Supervision: Delegate and supervise tasks for junior fee earners as appropriate.
  • Secondment Support: Provide responsive secondment support to key clients, both remotely and on-site.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research and advise on new statutes, regulations, directives, and case law.
  • Business Development: Engage in business development activities, including planning and delivering seminars and training programs in person and online.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with IT (Microsoft Office) and experience with case management systems.
  • Familiarity with online and library research tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex technical aspects to clients.
  • Experience in clinical negligence (defendant/claimant) or catastrophic personal injury cases.
  • Experience in inquest or healthcare advisory work is advantageous.
