Themis Recruit are working on an outstanding opportunity for a junior solicitor or CILEx professional looking to build a long-term career in serious injury litigation. You will join a highly respected claimant team working on complex, high-value catastrophic injury cases, gaining exposure to sophisticated litigation and some of the most challenging and rewarding work in personal injury.

Working alongside experienced fee earners and leading experts, you will play a key role in progressing serious injury claims while developing the technical skills, client management ability and litigation experience required to advance your career in this specialist area.


The Opportunity

As an Assistant Fee Earner, you will assist on a portfolio of serious injury and catastrophic road traffic accident claims, many involving complex liability and quantum issues.

This role offers exceptional development potential for junior lawyers. You will gain hands-on experience working with leading experts and senior practitioners, while developing a strong foundation in high-value personal injury litigation.

You will also have the opportunity to build your professional profile through networking and collaboration with organisations such as APIL, Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association, helping you establish yourself within the claimant personal injury sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the lead fee earner on a caseload of serious injury and catastrophic claims
  • Maintaining a detailed working knowledge of cases and the strategic direction of each claim
  • Progressing agreed aspects of cases to ensure matters move forward efficiently
  • Drafting key legal documents including statements, pleadings and schedules of loss
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on liability, causation and quantum
  • Liaising with multi-disciplinary experts including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants and counsel
  • Supporting client meetings, conferences and settlement discussions
  • Securing interim payments and rehabilitation support to assist clients’ recovery
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and professional stakeholders
  • Preparing core documentation for client meetings and settlement negotiations
  • Maintaining accurate case records and updating the case management system
  • Supporting business development activities and raising the profile of the department

About You

This role is ideal for a junior solicitor seeking genuine career development within serious injury litigation.

You will likely have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience assisting with or handling personal injury or serious injury claims
  • The ability to work with medical and professional experts
  • Strong drafting, research and organisational skills
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
