The Opportunity
Themis Recruit are looking for a confident and proactive Development Lawyer to join their expanding Commercial Property Team, focusing on residential and commercial development work.
You’ll be working closely with experienced Development Partners, advising national housebuilders, landowners, and developers on a wide range of property matters.
Key Responsibilities
You will support and lead on various development-related transactions, including:

Title investigations and due diligence, including complex site set-ups

Drafting and negotiating conditional contracts, options, promotions, and overage agreements

Supporting plot sales and management schemes alongside our New Build Team
-
Advising on land disposals, including affordable housing and freehold reservations
-
Preparing infrastructure and planning agreements, easements, and licences
-
Representing landowners in development disposals
-
Contributing to business development and marketing efforts as part of our strategic growth
Your Role Will Also Include

Delivering high-quality legal services to new and existing clients
-
Working collaboratively with Partners and colleagues to develop new business
-
Meeting fee income targets and managing time and billing effectively
-
Staying up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments
-
Upholding the firm’s quality and risk management procedures
Role Details

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)

Location: Flexible

Salary: Competitive, based on experience
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
A strong interest in Commercial Property and Residential Development
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Commercially-minded with strong attention to detail
-
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
-
Strong IT literacy (Word, Excel, case management systems)
Desirable:
-
Experience working with developers or within the housebuilding sector
-
Knowledge of Visual Files and SOS Connect
-
Understanding of Solicitors Account Rules and AML regulations
-
Previous business development experience
